THE VIRGINIA ROBINSON GARDENS STILL PHOTOGRAPHY
Still photography is the only form of filming allowed at the gardens. There is an application (P&R82-A) and a contract that needs to be completed by the contact person and states, in depth, rules and regulations that must be followed by representatives of the company and all involved with the location while on the premises.
We need to be informed of the number of people to arrive for the shoot, including cast and crew, the number of vehicles, the type of equipment and where exactly they wish to shoot. Remember no street parking or unloading.
All types of still photography is permitted, we do not allow nudity. All are subject to the fees.
Filming hours: Between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.; Tuesday through Friday only. There are NO exceptions. The Environmental Impact Report prohibits garden visitors at other times.
Cost is $800.00 per day/session. A check made out payable L.A. County Department of Parks and Recreation, 10-14 days before the shoot is ideal but not always realistic, if it is later than that, cash is required. We do accept out of state checks.
General Liability and Workers Compensation Insurance in the amount of 2 million dollars, covering the shoot and naming the County of Los Angeles as additionally insured is required. We need a copy of this insurance before filming can begin.
SPECIAL EVENTS
The facility is available Tuesday through Friday only, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. This includes set up and clean up time. The maximum number of people allowed is 80 (seated, outdoors, formal lawn area) or 50 (seated, indoors, Pool Pavilion). Due to neighborhood restrictions, parking is prohibited on surrounding residential streets. The entire group is limited to 20 parking spaces on the grounds so carpooling is necessary. Vehicles must be able to fit through an archway 8’ high and 8’ wide. We can provide tables and chairs only. Caterers are allowed. Proof of general liability insurance in the amount of two million dollars, naming the County of Los Angeles as additionally insured, is required. The caterer must also have insurance. Insurance may be purchased through the County’s SELIP program if needed. The cost of the facility rental is $800.00 and a tour for the group is included. Special Events includes: luncheons, seminars, meetings, etc. sorry NO political or religious events.
